General description of the collection: This collection contains a photostat of the Headquarters II Corps (C. T. F.), Office of the Surgeon, annual report. The 1942 report was submitted to the Surgeon General, U.S. Army in Washington, D.C., by Colonel Richard T. Arnest. In the report, Arnest describes the movement of the Medical Section, II Corps assets to Europe and then to North Africa. He particularly describes the movements and activities of hospital units during the first days after the U.S. Army II Corps landed in North Africa. Arnest also describes the difficulties with medical supplies and hospital equipment, which was shipped separately from the medical personnel.
